Cut From The Strings

Freedom…that is what everyone yearns for.  However, are we ever free or is someone always controlling us?  How do we break free from outside influences and become our own, individual person?    

 

"Cut from the Strings" is a compelling marching show that tells the story of a group of marionettes trying to break free from control and reclaiming their independence. The show explores the journey of liberation from a puppet master’s influence, emphasizing self-discovery, empowerment, and the courage to take charge of one's own destiny.  The show features the songs “Funeral March For a Marionette” by Charles Gounod, “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saëns, “Once Upon a December” from Anastasia, and “Bye Bye Bye” by N’SYNC.

We will use exciting musical and visual elements to answer the ultimate question - are we actually free?   

Below is a sample MP3 for this year's marching show.  Please be aware that the solo instruments may be change and the percussion parts will change to make them more fitting to the level of our percussionists and to help add exciting musical elements to the show.  The first minute of the recording is a preshow - we will add more elements to this portion of the show to help tell the story.
